My latest assignment has been to design the characters for a story called The Three Robbers. The first picture was my first attempt. However, the three robbers didn't seem to have enough in common, so I picked my favourite robber and triplicated him. I think that I like it when the robbers are all similar. What do you think?

Hmmm... I think the 3 robbers all being similar are a bit TOO similar, but the ones that differ are too different. 2 questions, what do the robbers do in the story? Do they act together, as a group (could the story be 40 robbers, and still be unaffected, ala ali baba and the 40 thieves), or does the girl encounter them progressively, with one robber being the 'ultimate' robber (like billy goat gruff or 3 little pigs)? If the former, than I think 3 the same is fine. If the latter, some 'growth' or difference would be good. Perhaps some variation in size would be enough.
